Staying ahead in the world of technology

Information Technology Department.

The new service desk program is capable of much more than just submitting work orders. The IT dept. is setting it up to automate many of the schools processes. The registration process will be the first to undergo this transition. The registration process is being standardized and placed into Service Desk. Once complete Service Desk will prompt the appropriate user to complete tasks necessary to the registration process. This will ensure that the registration process is completed accurately and in a timely manner. This will not be the only school process utilizing this software. We have many other ideas such as sending maintenance requests to Jim Alley. If anyone has ideas on how this software might help them or their dept. contact IT at ext 0502.

Ongoing and upcoming projects:

Microsoft Class Server, is an application newly acquired by the IT department that could replace or supplement our Plato curriculum software. The Class server makes it easy for school districts to create, deliver, and grade standards-aligned tests and lessons over the Web—helping teachers track and improve student achievement against local curriculum standards, and meet the challenges of No Child Left Behind. Content is needed before we are able to implement Microsoft Class Server so no date has been set for roll out, however we will be giving a demo to some district staff members this month to start the approval process.
